Q45 Brakes Squeaking

For quite awhile I have had some squeaking coming from my front brakes. They don't do it at first when they are cold, just after they are warmed up with a few stops. I have the Q45 front setup. If I press on the brake pedal ever so slightly (not even enough to make the car slow at all) the squealing goes away. As soon as I release it comes back. It is VERY annoying driving in town. I pulled everything apart and regreased it with that clear brake lubricant in a tube, but it hasn't made a difference. Thoughts?

Sounds like you're on the wear indicators.

Do you have Q45 rotors or Cobra? I have the Cobras, and even with Jeff's rings they aren't completely hubcentric. I have the same problem you have, and when I had my car on the dyno I noticed I could see the rotor spinning unevenly, so I'm thinking the noise could come from the rotor rubbing against the caliper since it's not completely hubcentric. I've had my setup for 2 years now with some auto-x, so maybe I should be checking my pads....hmm...

It definitely isn't the wear indicators, the setup has only been on the car for a year or so. The pads are Hawk HPS and the rotors are Q45's made by Brembo.

That's what I thought too... but I was wrong.

Symptoms point to wear indicators. Just take off your wheel and take a look.

yup, mine are the same way. stock brakes, but same symptoms. I checked out the pads and it's the wear indicators! I'm still waiting a while for pads though...

Didn't you just rip the indicators off and keep going?

im looking into this mod for the I.. Is there a thread that covers all the parts needed to swap? Any installation tips now that you've both had some noise issues?

Thanks,
