can a discman be wired directly to a bose deck?

can i hook up a discman DIRECTLY to the Bose deck? i have the fm/am/cass bose deck on a 92 SE......through my experiments i found that my tape deck is bad, because the radio plays wonderfully so i figured if there was a way to hook up my discman directly to the deck without having to go through a cassete car kit.....my friend did it in his 91 crown victoria so im liking the idea

Re: can a discman be wired directly to a bose deck?

Maximan 190 is right, BOSE systems, unless less than two years old, suck badly because of their design and its flaws due to the harsh car audio environment. Even worse, they're about as tempermental as all hell. So don't be cheap and try to do something as ghetto as hardwire a discman, if you do actually have any idea where to start once you get into the factory Clarion unit (the tape flap says BOSE, but just imagine how much faster you would be listening to me and replacing stuff if it was actually made by BOSE and not Clarion), then you're smart enough to know its not worth it. Get a set of four new, 4-ohm aftermarket speakers, the cheap ones if you have to ($30/pr) and a deck, not a cheap one (>$120), install it yourself, and it will sound ten times better than any discman you try to wire into an analog input, even if you could do it.
