Car wont start and acting funny (electrical clicking)

I went out to my car this morning and tried unlocking using the keyless entry and nothing... so i had to unlock with the key.
I put the key in the ignition and tried starting and nothing. when i turned the key back to the off position it started making this clicking and it wont stop unless the key is in the "on" position. what is the problem?

I'm sure your probably right i will try to jump start tonight. But why would it continue to click even without having the key in the ignition? I had to disconnect the battery to stop the clicking.

I think it might be the relay for the alarm or control unit since the batt was so dead, it tried to switch on but there was not enough power to stay on, then it switched off.

Battery... Any other electrical components work?

Now you need to find out if it is your battery needs replacing or your alternator crapped out, or the best case scenario would be you left something on. Dome light probably wouldn't kill your battery in one night though.

Anyway, jump start it and take it to auto zone or an equivalent auto store and they will more than likely be able to tell you what your problem is.

if you can't jump it up, it'll be your alter.

So if it does end up being a bad battery what is a good replacement for the 5.5 gen maximas? I had an optima red top in my jeep and that thing never gave me any greif but i dont know if that would be ideal for the maxima

is your car automatic?
for cars that have cats, I wouldn't suggest to roll start 'cuz it's gonna kill the cats.

Hopefully, i took it to autozone and they said my alternator works fine then they took my battery, charged and checked it and they said thats fine too. I didnt leave any lights on so idk what happened but it is staying charged now.

could have been an interior light left on, or something plugged to you 12v outlet, sometimes whe you plug something in there eventhough the engine is off it continues drainning the battery
