98 I30.
I'm trying to get a replacement remote, but I need the OE part # not the FCC ID that everyone appears to be referencing in all the listings I see online.

why do you need the OE part #??? are you getting it from a dealership??? if you are, why??? the FCC ID is the ID of the Key fob that will work with your vehicle. Essentially, this is what your asking. You're asking for the stores sku # or UPS # instead of the ISBN # of a book. I would just find a key fob that works which is found by using the FCC ID #. With the amount of posts you have, i'm thinking that you're using it for something else. Why not just call up a dealership if you really need the Dealership part #???

the FCC ID is the same on the nissan as the infiniti remote.
I have a source for remotes, but they go by OE part # not the FCC ID #.
Dealers don't like giving out part #s

I'm just looking to get a brand new one right now. I have 1 that john gave me, and somewhere I have 1 left over from my old I30.
I'm not even 100% sure that my keyless system is any good. I will be doing the diagnostics in the near future. I need to fix some odds and ends first.

$80??? You can get new fobs on eBay for $35. See link below. I've bought fobs on eBay before with no problems...

Vista = free with my laptop, no other option.
Ebay = ****** market, tons of other options.

and before you say there are other operating systems I can install, I am well aware of that and have been running linux on other machines for a while already. this laptop is under warranty, and needs to run software that won't run under WINE yet.
