HID foglight conversion how-to?

I did a search and checked the sticky but the link for the how to did not work. Does anyone have a write-up of how this is done since there has to be some modification of the housing. Thanks.

All I did was talk top operatic, and purchased an h3 Plug and Play kit. Plugged in nicely, and works great.

regular H3 HID bulb would be a lil bit tight for the housing, however it fits becoz i've done it.

i also have an H3 mini(not installed) and im sure it's much easier to install than the regular H3.

as the others have said, i'd get an H3 mini and it's plug and play, it'd be easier to remove your headlights and go from there.

i bought a h3 hid kit off of ebay a year ago. 6k. the h3 fit in the fog housing. It cost 70 bucks and to this day works perfectly and VERY VERY bright.
I cant remember te seller but it came with instructions, all parts needed and easy to do. i had to modifiy the connection from the vehicle side of the wire to the ballast. Other than that plug and play. Only took 1/2 hour to connect and that was due to finding a good place to mount the ballast.
Also the regular size hid h3 fit perfectly in the fog housing. No modifications.

its not that hard,...i have a reg. h3 kit,.. the only modifications i had to do,.. were stick my finger in the light fixture and bend the shield down a bit,..and then hardwire the ground and the positive with the clip on it near the actual light fixture,.. really easy,.. will make alot of sense when your actually doing it...

Thanks for all your help. Everything hooked up very easily but how did you get the cap back on the fog housing. The wires that have to come out to connect to the ballast have no place to pass through. Do you just leave the round cap off the back of the housing?

no dont leave the cap off. if you do it will fill with wather and drebris. I cut the h3 wires and enlarged the rubber grommet holes. Then i slide the wires thru and reconnected the wires by soldering them and then the cap was able to lock back on.

About the wire not going thru, I made a hole and ran the wore through the housing then sealed it up some clay kind ofstuffi got from autozone.

Damn I wish my fogs are working right now :-(

Would that be the hole that has the rubber "L" shaped part on it in the middle of the rear cap?

um.. not sure what u mean.. im talking about the cap that screws onand there was a small rubber circle thing where the wires went though it.... i ripped out the rubber thing,..cur it off so i had just wires,.. then made the hole where the rubber thing was wedged into(on the cap) bigger with a drill bit.. to fit through.. then sealed it up..hope thats more clear..

What's a good grounding spot for the neg. wire? I really didn't have much time to play around since I have to get ready for work.
