Report back on my fuel-cut TSB service

Just got off the phone with the service tech. He sez the ECM reports the correct codes already. According to him, it shows my '01 SE came from the factory with the updated programming.

So...why do I have to pop the throttle just to crawl away from a stop, instead of gradually feeding it gas like every other friggin 5-speed I've ever owned? I'm getting really tired of the jerky starts. And don't get me started about getting caught in stop-and-go traffic.

Anyone else in this situation?

It is just hard to get dealer to admit that your car has that problem.
Keep trying...
Peace

So, where do I go from here? He sez the codes from the ECM match the codes that the TSB is supposed to produce. Thus, the ECM on my SE is up-to-date with the TSB. It's kind of hard to argue with the computer.

Tell him to reprogram it anyway. All it is is a few hours. He doesn't have to sit and watch it.

oh.. well then...

have them check the throttle position sensor, very common to be out of adjustment.. I dont see why we have to know more about this stuff than the techs.. thats the next obvious thing to check (but dont expect them to use the initiative to find that, as they were going to wait til your 5th visit to suggest that)

That seems to be the feeling I'm getting from these guys. I had a bad preminition when I first called them about the TSB and was met with a long silence at the other end. Eventually, I got an "I mustuv missed thatun." reply. Hoo boy.
