I've had it with the Nissan dealers in Michigan. One dealer hardly wants to let me order the car I want. Another dealer will let me order it, but can only give me $300-400 off sticker. I know some of you guys have gotten killer deals on your max's. I have a Northwest voucher for airfare lying around. I'm willing to use it to fly somewhere in the US and get my car and drive it back to Michigan where I live.

For those of you who've ordered 2K2 Max's can you tell me what dealership you went to where it is (city, state) and how much over invoice you paid.

Fly to Toronto and get something there. I heard some people getting the loaded SE for $35,000. Multiplying that by 0.62xxx and you get the US amount :-). Tax is 7 + 8% there. What do you guys pay in most States beside Florida?

 

I've already looked into the whole Canada thing. If I wanted leather I'd be so all over it. The 15% tax is refundable by mail to US residents. You only have to pay sales tax in the state you return to. The trick is financing it. I can't finance through Nissan Candana and I don't get as good of a deal through my local credit union/bank. The difference in interest rates could really add up after a few years to the point where it's no longer made any sense to buy in Canada. But I'm going to look at it again and re-think the whole no leather idea.

I was really hoping to buy it somewhere in the US. I was hoping to get it some place closer than Cali too, but I will rule out nothing for now.

Actually the more I think about it the more I think I'm going to get one in Toronto. Leather or not here I come. I should be able to get a 2k2 6 speed loaded for about $22k USD. I've gotten a good write up on how to do it and what all I need to get the car through customs and get back the %15 taxes. Hmm I think I'll be calling the phone numbers I got on Thurday when I get back from my business trip in NY.
