Thermal Element for High Idle in TB

Does any one know where I can get one of these for less than $ 120?

The 16391U.

Is it not working properly?

Most people aren't going to remove them from the TB to sell them, so it'd probably be cheaper just to get a whole new TB.

Have you checked with Maxima_Joe to see if he has any junk TBs he can take one out of? Have you checked local junkyards? Called Dave B?

FWIW, I removed that a long time ago from one TB, and have the coolant bypassed from my current one, and my cold idle has never changed from when it was functional.

It does not extend when the engine gets warm, so it keeps the idle cam on high idle. I rigged it to keep it on the low idle portion. I was going to leave it alone, but now that it is getting colder I have to hold the gas pedal done for a little bit on a cold start. Aggravating!

I have the same problem.

Joe, you happen to have any more TB's?

Just so you know, lots of 90+ model year Nissans use the same thermo element on the throttle body, so don't limit your search to just Maximas. I know for certain that the 3.3 VG in the Frontier & Xterra use it, for example. Time for a trip to the salvage yard, if paying for a new one is prohibitive. But be aware that you will probably have to buy the entire TB to get this part, and it will be used also. Sometimes it's better to get a new one.
