Water Pump squeeking at idle - means?

Hi,

at idle, (I think) the water pump does a high frequencies ''beeeeeeeeeeeee''.
Hit the gas, and the sound's gone until the idle comes back.

It's very random, sometimes I have the problem and the other day nothing.

Commun? Need replace?

Note: I did a search, I know that im not the only one, but some says that it comes from the idle control air valve. In my case I really hear it near the belts.

Thanks

hopefully its not the water pump. is there any coolant dripping? there is a weep hole by the outer timing cover. when my water pump was going it was like a tsh tsh tsh tsh tsh sound but it was constant and sped up with RPM.

When my water pump went there I just saw a drip here and there--no squeak. I am thinking it maybe your belt tensioner.

why are you thinking it's the WP?

not sure, even if the WP was making any noise you could hear it on accounta it's internal.

there are plenty of external accessories that'd more likely be the culprits... PS pump; belt tensioner; AC compressor.

for crap's sake, check those b/f you start tearing stuff down to get to the WP.

I was gonna say belt tensioner or bearings from 1 of the other accessories (alternator, AC). But someone beat me to it.
