2000 GLE - has an intermittent coolant leak on the passenger side. I notice it in the morning enough to leave a fresh stain on driveway and know it is coolant but not a huge puddle. Sometimes I would notice a lot and other times nothing.

Last time I looked at it I noticed a drop of coolant coming from the passenger side lower splash shield but there is nothing really above that other than the overflow bottle (I checked and no obvious cracks or leaks on there)

I brought it to my garage the other day and they said it was some loose clamps, they performed a pressure check (was ok) and said it was not the water pump but this morning I noticed a small amount under there again.

 

Hmm - just got to thinking could it be the hose from the rad to overflow? When you turn off the car does any coolant under pressure return back to the bottle?

 

my bet is a radiator leak

 

Either that or a radiator hose. Check everything well after starting the car and maybe driving around a little.

 

Yeah, we had the radiator replaced with a new one about 3 months ago - hopefully it did not crack already? If the system was pressure tested shouldn't that show a leaking radiator?
