ecu QUESTION

I have a 2002 GLE if I were to get an ECU from an SE model would that then remove my speed limiter. Also if I were to do so are there any problems that I may have with the cars operations. Please any info will help and I dont mean telling me to go search either.

Thanks

Ok well I now understand there is a speed limter on the SE model but that is still better tan the 130 cut off that I have in my car. So with that said will the SE ecu work in my car with no side affects.

Getting an ECU from an SE and making it work for your car would probably be more time consuming and expensive, and less beneficial than getting Technosquare to reprogram your ECU. It costs $550, and they can remove the speed limiter and rev limter, and reprogram the ECU to work more efficiently with any modifications you have to your car.

I think someone said you could disable it by pulling out the ABS fuses.

There is said to be a soft limiter @ 130 on all AT's. The only reason I see benefit to extend is for dynoing. you will need to find an SE ECU, buy it, take it and your car to your dealer, and have them program your keys to the new ECU. Costs ~ 130$ or so.

Try the brake fuse thing only if you plan on dynoing and seeing if it does remove it, and not being an idiot, pulling your fuse, and then going on the highway.

You kids are insane going that speed.
