Wipers wont work -blows fuse everytime... help please! snows coming.

Hello all - I gotta problem.

TODAY - i got in the car, attempted to use the wipers in the morning and they were stuck, Cleared the Ice of them, Ok - Now they work great...

THIS AFTERNOON - went to get lunch. they started to work, moved 1/4 up and stopped... just stopped, NO Power, NO Go, (i thought fuse, ok)

Got Home - Replaced Fuse(20), It blew the fuse, Still dont work.....ok
Tried (15)Amp - Blew, Tried (25)Amp - Blew, Tried (30)Amp - Blew.
Yes i had the ignition OFF when i inserted each fuse.
Turned the Key and then they blew out.

Im half tempted to just reset the entire car by pulling the battery cable and reinstalling or resetting the ECU....

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.

Mwest.

Sounds like your wiper motor's had it- test and replace if needed, maybe the switch. You shouldn't be using higher rated fuses in a low rated circuit easy way to fry your wiring or car.

Oh i know... Its 10degrees outside so at this point i really didnt care about damage.

It has to be something other than just the motor blow. The fuse shorts out before i even turn the wipers on. It Blows as soon as i turn the key in the ignition...
ANY IDEAS?

If it's only that one fuse...I'd say there's a pos (+) touching ground causing the fuse to blow as soon as acc is switched on. Check the wiper stalk it may have had an in internal burnout, smell it. I remember a guy on here months back saying he had smoke coming out near the steering wheel. I can't seem to open the FSM on my comp, just switched operating systems. Wanted to see if there was anything else wired in the same circuit. maybe a relay.

It blows as soon as you turn the key on because your wipers are in the middle of a stroke on your windshield and the motor will be activated until they go down to their resting position.

Your motor has most likely shorted out. Test & replace it.

Try disconnecting the wiring for power at your wiper motor then change the fuse #20, if it no longer blows than it is probably the wiper motor. If fuse#20 still blows it could be the washer fluid motor or the wiper relay circuit has a problem. Take a quick look at all three of these things. Fuse 20 also protects the washer motor and wiper relay circuits.
