Stereo, clock, windows dont work??
I have 95 maxima with a bose system. So I took out the bose receiver and mistakenly cut the wires, I then had to go out and buy a harness and an adapter for the new reciever. I wired everything up right but now the rear windows/locks and the stereo don't work. The clock also doesn't work but I want to tackle 1 problem at a time. I wanna get my radio done first b/c I haven't been able to listen to music in my car for 3 weeks.
I remember when I first disconnected everything All the wires were scattered around because I cut them and some of them touched each other, and I would hear clicking noises.
So yeah, I don't know much about cars and I don't know what the problem is. Could it be a blown fuse? btw, the climate control/hazards and defrost still work though.

The fuses is your best bet. Also, check to see if you may have crossed some wires together, sometimes, when you let a wire from your stereo touch ground (negative) then nothing will work.
Take a couple minutes to check all your fuses, even under the hood.

I just bought a fuse kit today, but its dark out so I'll check it tomorrow morning, I am really hoping it is just a fuse and nothing major. BTW is there any chance that messing with the stereo wiring can possibly have an effect on the rear power door locks/windows? Like lets say I did blow a fuse on the stereo system, could that have caused like a chain reaction or something?
The clock and audio share a circuit but the rear windows/locks are not part of it. Try fixing the clock and audio circuits first there is a good chance it's only a fuse. Check all your fuses including the ones under the hood.
The rear windows may get more complicated. It's hard to knock those out without taking out the front also. Have you tried to see if the rear windows work if you try them with the switches on the rear doors and not at the drivers door? Are you sure they worked before your radio hook up?

BTW the 3 fuses that were blown were.
1. Cig Lighter
2. Bose
3. Unlisted (it doesn't say what the fuse was for but it was a 7.5 one probably for the rear doors)
So anyways, I hooked up the stereo and it still doesn't work, I know its not the stereo b/c I also tried it with the old bose system too. It has to be the wiring, its the only thing I could think of.
