steering wheel controls
steering wheel controls
My screen for my bose radio passed away... Now im debating on buying a new radio. If i get something aftermarket will i lose my controls on the steering wheel... Is there a radio or hook up that will allow me to keep my controls.... losing them is not an option.
you need the pac-swi-x this will help you retain steering wheel controls with aftermarket head unit but It does not work with all headunits so make sure it will work with the one your getting crutchfeild could probably tell you.
If you go through Crutchfield's online ordering process (even if you decide not to buy from them) they'll tell you everything you can do to hook up your new headunit to the factory system, including how to keep the steering wheel controls active.
Yes I agree with everyone else, Crutchfield is the best, and it is also called a stalk control adaptor. http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk...at%20small.jpg . Thats what the adaptor looks like for a kenwood deck.

get the PAC audio adapter specific to the make/model of what ever head unit u get
for example the PAC SWI-PS...where "PS= Pioneer/Sony"
the swi-x uses old school Infrared to maintain a signal, and can be very buggy

I have one of the PAC steering wheel control adapters for my Alpine head unit. The volume up/down controls work just about all the time, but the track up/down buttons seem to work on and off. Almost seems as if it's temperature related. Not sure if anyone else has this problem though...
i have that problem with my stock head unit. everything works fine, when the tempurature is 70 degrees and over, but when it gets under 70 then the track and the volume buttons dont work at all. have you found a solution yet?
