97 MAXIMA IAT?????

ok here it is.... i just installed a new intake system that a got one heck of a deal on. its an injen intake, and most everything went as planned on the install. there is one issue. on my stock air intake there was the sensor for the IAT, but there was no port on the injen cai for such sensor. i installed and started vehicle and now my check engine light is on. is this just something that can be fixed by drilling a hole in the cai and installing the sensor in? im not too familiar with the sensor, but i believe that it just measures the intake temp. i just though that i would get a second opinion before i drill a hole in my cai piping. oh yea, if it is ok to so, is there any specific location that i need to place this sensor? would assume somewhere before the MAF....any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks.

you may be able to get rid of the code by simply getting the sensor off of the snorkle and plugging it in the harness. even if it just hangs (which I personally couldn't live with) it might take care if the CEL

Yes in the filter. I don't have an Injen though. All you do is put the sensor in the filter, and pop the filter back on. If you don't wanna do that then I guess you can drill a hole in the piping, but why go through all that trouble?

this sensor hardly does anything important. But just for the non-tacky look, if u can, bore a hole and snuggle it down in there.

I vote for the zip tie to something so it's plugged and out of the way.

i drilled a hole in the filter itself on the plastic base for the sensor, then reset the ecu and the CEL went away
