From what I've read in the past, all light bulbs, regardless of the type, start gradually going dim the minute they are installed.

Are you comparing 4300k to 6000k? Also are you looking at color or viewable light?

it doesn't really matter..as time goes on, the viewable light diminishes...as far as color, naturally the HIGHER you go in the kelvin scale, the less USABLE light you have to start off with

since we are on the subject..... can the stock hid bulb be replaced with one of the higher temp ones, such as 8000k or 10000k without swapping the ballast?

oh and by the way, all bulbs begin to lose brightness from the day they are first turned on, that even includes lcd tv's home theater projectors and so on. the only bulb that keeps its intensity throughout its life span are led.

yes you can swap bulbs...it doesnt matter what kind of ballast your using, as long as the bulb works with a 35 watt ballast your ok to go bro

and in ACTUALITY, the LCD doesnt loose brightness throughout its life span because it doesn't control brightness....its the backlight your referring to

Jeez.... gettin all technical on me yes its the backlight that gets dim, there are lcd panels that use led's as backlight that do not get dim over time and there expensive as hell. And there are projecters and projection tv's that are using led bulbs that do not dim, I will remember to be more specific

this thread = FAIL.

do some reasearch about lighting before posting.

start with this excellent and informational link from a well-respected authority on the subject:
