Different Steering Wheel?

Are there any other decent looking Nissan steering wheels that will fit a Maxima? I have the weird half moon shaped one and I think it looks so weird. I have seem Maximas with the four point and the cruise buttons on the horn pad, but they were all extremely worn. Is there any other good looking steering wheel that fits and is compatible with the cruise buttons?

most early nissan wheels will work.
the favorite is the 3 spoke 240sx wheel, but they are $$ if you find one with cruise on ebay.

I bought one from a non-airbag '90 300zx w/ the cruise buttons (same as the 240sx I think), but I still haven't installed it because I don't see how it matches up with my steering column.

Cliff Calvin (sp?) put a 91' 240sx wheel on his airbagless max and I think it looks great...

I've got the non-airbag SE wheel on mine right now. It was incredibly easy to switch too, just do yourself a favor and pull the horn fuse before starting the switch! (Better yet, disconnect your battery so you don't have to worry about it at all)

If you're talking about going from the GXE "half moon-ish" to the SE it's all plug and play. The cruise buttons are the same for both wheels they're just mounted in a different location on the wheel itself so if you're really worried about it you could just keep the cruise buttons from your exisiting wheel (they pop right out).

If you're talking about the 240SX/300ZX...dunno, I would assume it's plug and play as well based on what Brian [internetautomar] said.

well the airbag wheels are not really PNP with the non-airbag steering columns, or vice versa. You can do it, it just takes a little bit more work to wire things up. As for putting a non-airbag wheel on an airbag car..... i'm sure that CAN be done as well but you might have to drill a hole in the back of the wheel casing or something. i dunno exactly how the spiral cable goes through the wheel.. never seen one before... but i know it's there.

I have the same wheel, but the 3 copper/brass rings on the back don't match up with the larger rings on my steering column. There should be bushings that match up to the rings on one side, but on my '89 GXE there are rings both on the steering column side and on the steering wheel, so it seems I am SOL. Any ideas? Also, where can I get the NISSAN button for the center? Mine is missing

can you get the rings out of a 240? and swap them for the ones on your max's column

Recently bought this one in excellent condition, came off of a 240sx or a Pulsar I think.
