Ugh... got rear ended on the way to work...

Hopefully its not too bad... Was merging on the highway, lady in front of me decided to completely stop at the yield despite previously deciding to go. I barely missed rearending her... swerved to my right.. stopped... guy behind didn't... thunk.... Ugh...

She only had 4400 and change miles...

Hopefully, its just the rear bumper cover, and probably the left muffler... anyone know how much the muffler is?? I'm thinking about giving Stillen a call for the full catback!!

Note the new super sporty angle of the tip!! Woot!

He definitely got the worst of it...

Hopefully his insurance companies will place nice, as he admitted fault, apologized, etc... I had my iPhone on my and digital camera in the car... got Macro Images of his DL, Insurance Policy, and of both cars... They can't really refute it much... although I'm sure they'll try...

Be sure to get your Max checked out by a pro. The bumper cover won't show the damage to the bumper beam and brackets underneath. From the look of the ES300 that hit you, I'd say there's a strong probability of worse damage underneath.

Yeah, I was already warned by a friend and fellow Maxima owner about Frame Damage he had from a similar incident... ;( It's going to the Collision Repair Center for a Higher End Chain of dealerships (Infiniti, Lexus, Cadillac, etc). They tend to get Mercedes, Escalades, etc in there.

Damn that hurts. Looks like only the bumper cover has to be replaced. Not that bad, but it'll still be pricey being that its a brand new car plus getting it painted.

I would have them align your muffler tips while they are at it. the left one is pointing way higher than the right.

I feel for you man! I was almost hit head on yesterday at a stoplight when the idiot in front of me decided to jump the light and fly in front of a cattle truck which caused him to lock his brakes and swing in my lane and direction, I quickly hit the gas and pulled to the right just in time to get out of his way.........

I hope you get everything fixed and she goes back to the same before...........And I know this is probably the wrong place....but I do have my stock exhaust in my garage from when I replaced the system. If you need parts let me know I have the whole system!

I feel your pain! It looks like yours wasn't as severe as mine, but get it checked anyway. I had 2500 on mine when I was slammed into by a lady driving a Versa. People drive too close these days!

Hey! I'm new to this forum but a year long reader. I'm only 16 and the future driver of the parents' 1995 max SE.

You ok there KaZ? If im not mistaken, isnt this the type of situation that bumper to bumper warranty covers????

LOL, this definitely wouldn't be covered under warranty... insurance is handling it. It's already been dropped off at the body shop and in the teardown phase. The estimator peaked in the trunk and said it doesn't look like there is any outwardly visable frame damage, but they won't know for sure until its all apart. I stopped and asked the estimator to check the exhaust and whatever needed to be replaced, that he add it all up and call me before they purchase it... and before I could even start my next comment he beat me to it "In case you want to get an aftermarket exhaust instead? Not a problem!". LOL. So we'll see. I already checked the Muffler and its $300 on CourtesyParts.com. Surprisingly the other muffler is only $168... go figure. It really looks like it just shoved the tip, but personally I wouldn't want that fixed, I'd want it replaced... but we'll see. Thanks for all the comments and well wishes.

It's illegal to wear flip flops while driving, at least here in Oregon it is.. You can use the picture as leverage if you need any.
