Oh crap! Oil leak...

i noticed that the hose attaching the blower pipes onto the thottle body was loose so i decided to take it off and re attach. but i noticed that there is this slight black goo on everything around the edges, then i went investigated and removed the MAS, and the rest of the SC piping. well. there was oil inside the blower piping, and coming out of the blower it self.. not alot. but enough to have me concerned.

the blower might have a busted seal inside? i dont know. but when i took off the filter, there was slight oil inside the filter ...

then i went and took a look at the valve cover, there's burnt oil crusted on the side of the block, and when i reached underneath, it felt a little damp.

FOCK.
i dont know.. what to do. i'm supposed to go racing on the 24th . but this doesnt seem like a good thing to find..

any suggestions?

I had an oil before too. However, the leak was coming from the oil line because the fastener was overtighten. I had oil all over the left hand side of my engine bay. It was a mess to clean up.

About the valve cover, I had that problem too. It was my own fault because when I installed the polished valve cover I forgot to align the gasket all the way around. After I did that, the problem went away. I'm not sure if this might be your problem or not.

I feel your pain Cheston, seem like everyone who has a SC has one problem or another. I think I might have another problem, but just not sure what the heck it is. It's just some weird noise coming after a spirited drive. I just hope that nothing will break, melt, come off, etc.

The wonders of the SC...

Give Vortech a call and see what they think.

I guess you can get it rebuild and maybe it's a good time to upgrade the SC internals.

Check your breather hose that comes from the front valve cover to the K&N... See if there's a lot of oil in the tube... ???

I'm just dreading what my problem(s) will be... I haven't got rid of the idle problem... but i haven't adjusted the idle speed yet...

Did you check your MAFS yet? I'm telling you I had the same issue with my car when I had the SC on.

Hey Cheston, have you had any luck with fixing your starting problem yet? Did you read my post about my fix? If not, I changed my fuel filter and the car is about 75% better now.

Speaking of idle problem, I have it too. I adjusted the idle speed, but it still act a bit weird. I really think my MAFS need to be replaced. I'll test it with a volt meter later today and make sure.

I don't think it's the MAF if so many of us have this problem... I really doubt it's the problem. I'll check the normal readings with a Multimeter whem I have time but i'm not optimistic about finding it to be the problem.

Let me know how the MAFS test's out . BTW, if it was not for my bad MAFS I would probbably still be driving my SC I30 and Cheston would still be NA .
