I have a 2003 SE with 75K miles, I started seeing a little puddle in the AM from right beneath the transmission lines area (around the ATF pan) - traced it as a Coolant Leak, but is coming from a metal housing from up above.

See where the red circle is in the following picture

Do I need to replace this entire metal pipe (whatever it is called)?

IIRC, you will have to replace that whole assembly as the tube is not sold separately. Are you sure its not the gasket?

I am pretty sure it is coming from the pipe that joins to the water connector (as it is called in the factory diagram). The hose that connects to this pipe is clean and the oil seems to be starting fom the meta joint.

Which gasket could it be?

The pipe I think where it is coming from seems to be welded onto the water connector (the big pipe). The water connector has few gaskets further from the pipe where I see the cooland leaking from . The gaskets on the water connector pipe seems to be dry.

So Am I correct in thinking that the pipe that comes out of the bigger Water connector pipe (where it is leaking from) cannot be replaced by itself, and that I need to change the entire water connector assembly?

Anyone else has leak from here? This is bizzare as it is a ALL metal pipe...

 

Are you sure that it's not coming from the coolant temp. sensor above?
