Integrated Phone and Sirus Radio, How does it work?

Hi,

My car had a six month subscription to the Integrated Phone and the Sirus Radio when I purchased it last month. Trouble is that there were no instructions on how to use the phone or the radio. I can probably figure out the radio, but the phone ... that's another thing.

If you know how either of these items work ... I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance,

max05

If your Maxima didn't come with the owner's manual, you can read through the PDF of it and get some answers:

http://www.courtesyparts.com/pdf/2005-Nissan-Maxima.pdf

I searched through the manual and didn't see anything about phone integration -- was it installed later, or is it OEM hardware from Nissan?

Integrated Phone

I searched the manuals too and didn't find anything. I bought this car from a Mitsubishi Dealer. They used it as their 'drawing card' to get people on their lot. I think they were more amazed by what all the car did than I was. They only knew the basics and that was it.

I'll check out the link you gave me.

Thanks for your help.

I had the same experience. I bought mine from a Ford dealer and when I took it to a Nissan dealership for an inspection I didn't have insurance activated yet so the sales guy drove it with me following and he said, "Man, that is a NICE car." I bought it that day and when I picked it up the next day he said, "I have to admit, I took it out one more time. I just love driving it." But he put new Eagle's on it, so I didn't care.

A similar experience

Hi,

When I bought mine, the salesman confessed to my fiance' that my car was the nicest thing they had on the lot, but not to quote him on it because he'd get fired.

Humm? You weren't mad that he drove your car ... again? You must be a very easy going person. I would have had an absolute fit.

Take care and thanks again for your help.

Yeah I'm pretty easygoing. Plus, I was there to pick it up...all the paperwork was turned in, the loan approved, and it really wasn't worth arguing for another $100 off because the guy took a little ride. Gotta pick your battles

Not sure if it was from the recall...they're Eagle RS-A's though.

ya the RS-A's are the factory shipped 18" tire. If he just replaced them for no reason it was most likely from the recall. The inside tire wall would crack and fall apart which could lead to a complete blow out/de-treading. Dangerous stuff.

i have the same question as op. i bought an 04 sl w/o navi. while taking a closer look at the info screen, on the right hand side i can see some unlit displays. i see a little phone, reception bars, an envelope and the word roam. so im assuming that somehow i can integrate a cell phone with my car. anyone have the slightest idea on how to do this? ive tried searching this topic but no luck.

also i want to get sirius or xm and i also see that my stereo has the "sat" button. i have heard from some ppl that if it didnt come factory with the sattelite radio unti factory installed then it would be a pain to instal or i wouldnt be able to at all. can anyone help me with how to go about it? thanks ppl.

I think u need a different windshield for the nav and sat radio but im not too sure. I have the un-lit icons on my display screen also but i saw other maximas with Bluetooth buttons on the steering wheel along with the audio ones so i figured those are the only ones equipped with handsfree...
