Looking for a trans to drop into my '90 GXE. I would like not to monkey around with swapping out TCU's wiring or what's involved in using a VE tranny, as my motor is a VG.

Higher miles OK, I just need to know you've driven it, maintained it and can vouch for it. I will not be holding onto my car long after I install (boo, I'll miss it dearly).

I can drive 8-9 hrs from Charlotte, NC to pick up.

I may be able to help depending on how urgent your need is. I plan on having my auto swapped out for a manual as soon as I get a couple more parts. I can let you know when work is started if you're interested. Some history is the tranny comes out of a 90 GXE, rebuilt at around 140-150k in 04 (not sure though I'm waiting for Aamco to call me back with the exact milage). I have 249k on the odometer now with regular drain and fills a couple times a year. On the high side I averaged 30k a year between driving around raleigh and some trips to new jersey. But in 07 I brought another vehicle for trips so the car hasn't left the state since (so probably down to about 15k/yr).

Yes, I would be interested. You are very close indeed. Good news is that I have arranged to have the car towed to my new place (orig. I thought I had until March 1 to have it complete). We should talk soon, as My current neighbor can drop the tranny for me and possibly put yours in.

I'll give you a shout. Depending on on what's going on, I may even be available to help you drop it, if you need a set of extra hands!
