Teh VE hawtness has been revived!

PICS ON POST 9

To some of you i may look new, to others of you i might look familiar. I haven't posted fequently in a long long time because I got a WRX to go to and from college (over a mountain pass). Basically when i got the subaru I started neglecting the VE max which i use for drag racing. Recently though i ran over some wood pallets that fell of a semi and shattered across the freeway while returning to school in my Subaru. This popped 2 tires, bent 2 wheels and bent a strut. While the trucking companies insurance was figuring everything out, the only car i had was the max which had a bad wheel bearing and leaky injectors.

So first I got the wheel bearing replaced so that I could safely drive to college again. Then when I got back to school, the injectors started acting up again. Sometimes when I would start the car, the injectors would run fine, other times they would run horribly for about 5 mins then fix themselves. This is when I decided that I really needed to swap the injectors to the ones I bought off an orger a long time ago.

All of yesterday was dedicated to the maxima, I woke up at about 10:30am and started working without even eating breakfast. First I pulled the off my SRI and then took the front valve cover off to replace the gasket that was leaking into my spark plug holes. Then I cleaned and painted the valve cover. After doing this I started taking the IM off. Then a buddy of mine showed up to help (mastercater7). After getting the IM off, i started to prep it for paint while my friend started getting the injectors swapped. Once these were both done mastercater had to leave but another one of my friends showed up to help. with friend2's help we started putting arron's intake spacer kit on that I bought about a year ago. First installing the EGR block plate, then the IM spacer and then the TB spacer. after all this we put all the vacuum lines back on and reattached all electrical connections. We got it started up on the second try and took it out for a drive.

OH MY GOD does the car fly like a bat outa hell now! Once the vtc's turned on i burned out through first. Second chirped the tires pretty good. And third pulled like mad. This was all without my n2o. Hopefully we will see how that does at the track tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Anyways sorry for the novel, just felt compelled to share.

-Alex

Both of you should drag your Maximas down to Portland for the meet on April 19th...it would be nice to have some other 3rd gens there.

I need to get my Max out of the garage. I have only driven it a couple of times this winter and for the second year in a row I didn't even bother to mount the snow tires on it, even though it drives better than my 4x4 GMC truck in the snow.

Looks good! You gonna wash down the rest of that engine bay?

Sanding the paint off of the lettering + a little bit of clear coat would look sharp too.

Post a pic of the black max. I'm local. If you see a lowered silver G35 sedan on coupe 19s, give me a wave.
