VG Rear Brake Conversion
VG Rear Brake Conversion
I used the search but I couldnt find anything on how to do this mod. If I get the actual struts from the junkyard what all do I need to refurb to get them ready for the swap. Or with the unknown status of junkyard struts should I just buy some new ones from the stealership?

look for a rear disk set up from a 89 90 se. you will need the entire strut, this can be had from most JYs for around 40 to 60$. then look for the post for upgrading to rear z31 rotors and get 92-94 calipers. this has been a repeditive topic lately so you should be able to get the info you need with pictures. Matt i think has pics for the z31 upgrade i believe.
also you need the master cylinder

This is for the rear, I'm not sure if 90 is the same as the 89 which is why I only mentined 89 to be on the safe side
Matt recently replied to my inquiry about this particular conversion and was kind enough to provide his write up on it (drum to stock disc, which I assume you're attempting)...
Here it is: http://blehmco.com/faq/rear_disc_conversion.html

you need 89 caliper bracket which I confused for a torque member on my z31 write up thread. Once you've swapped in the 89 caliper bracket, you just buy the z31 rotors from brian and toss em on. Look up my thread if you want the rotor part number and some info as well. I think cape has a write up as well but not sure as that was probably done during my time of absence from the org

john are you ever gonna fix the wording on the pics in that thread? i was talking to someone else about this on AIM earlier today and they said goon's old tqmembers but meant caliper bracket (i would know, because i have goon's rear tqmembers and calipers in a box waiting for me to feel like putting them on my car)
