Removing chrome trim?

Anyone know how to remove the chrome trim for painting. Im planning on painting it a gunsmoke or a black metallic color. Does anyone know if its just glued and I just need to use a heat gun or are there screws somewhere?

Any help would be great

I believe all of it was not screwed on. The paint shop we used did it, so i didn't watch it, but my understanding is that it simply came off, was painted, then reinstalled, being very careful as the stainless material is very thin..

Just an FYI.. we had these tails painted, which I would highly recommend. A little more expensive than getting them tinted, and probably double what you'd pay Bat™ for some overlays, but they turned out a LOT nicer than the tinted ones we did for our G37..

What color is the project car? Is that performance grey or brilliant silver? Or was it changed all together?

Great look, mr305.

In the third photo (far right), you are parked just to the left of a big black SUV with a flat Dunlop Rover Touring LT left rear tire. I would move my car away from there before anyone showed up with jacks and tools and began banging around right next to my baby.

Back from the dead I'm sorry...

I'm wondering if there is something aftermarket now to replace the chrome trim? For some reason i thought one of the other models had black trim but all seem to have chrome on the 2010's.

If all else fails I'll remove them and have them painted... but I was really hoping to save my stock pieces. I want something that looks factory so overlays are out. For now I'm only worried about the trim but the grill, door handles, and the piece on the trunk would be next.
