ok.... time for a complete turn around on my maxima

as you all know, (except for the new people) you have seen my maxima with the horrible trash kit on my car, (eg, signature) now.. i think i have enough money to reverse the problem of the looks of my car and get it hooked up right.. and i would like opinions of other people to see what i need to get rid of and keep. so thanks alot guys!

please do not worry about flaming me, i don't take things personal.

sorry about the tiny image, the dern internet explorer won't let me resize the thing... but yeah tell me what you guys think should be done, now that i may have a second chance

The .org is going to tell you to get a stillen/iconic kit and call it a day. Coilovers for lowest ride. some new rims (350z as an example) will help. Maybe a 300zx bbk. While you're at it a dual projector tsx retro in the headlights with r34 headlights. Oh... and tint. Yeah.. that should do it.
good luck.

thanks bro, but i got to find some stock 96 or 97 bumpers for my car first.. because the other bumpers were trash since they were broken anyway.

what kind of suggestions are you looking for? only cosmetic?
if so:
18" wheels (350z / G35 / Altima SER)
stillen lip all around
if you're going back to stock bumpers, get the 97-99 front and rear end
red/clear tails
drop
tint

i hope you go through with it, it'll be a complete 360

put a different front bumper on (not stock, no lip) and call it a day.

Wanna sell that bumper? I think I could put it to good use since mine is cracked and duct tape only goes so far...

Just sell the whole car as is, some ricer will buy it after seeing the new F&F, and start from scratch.

ditch the kit. i would keep the 95-96 front end, but possibly do a 97-99 rear conversion.

2nd, but possibly most imporatantly, get a drop. this should really be the first mod for any a32 owner imo.

get decent wheels. i'm not a big fan of oem nissan/infiniti wheel "upgrades" but anything is better than what you got now and they seem to go pretty cheap.

get rid of all the little add-ons like the bumper lights and whatever else.

basically get it back to a clean oem-ish state with some decent whells and stance. it might not be the all out "show car" you wanted to build of the bat but it will be a decent starting point. from there, build with a plan not just whatever you can afford that minute. tastes will always evolve but if you do it in oder (1: basics, 2: major mods, 3: details) your build can adapt with you changing preferences. on the other hand, if you run out and buy all the cheap accesories first you're stuck with a poorly modded car that requires starting over when you realize you did not have focus (i.e. your post).

i personally dont like body kits but the one you have isnt as bad or rediculously ugly like others i've seen for the 4th gen maxima.

i say keep the front bumper, get teh iconic side skirts and rear valance, lower the car, get better wheels, and paint the pillar between the front and rear door black.

be different, dont do what other people do or say. dont look like everyone else do things that will help you stand out (big or small things), but be tastful and not tacky.

oh, i have a question. why does everyone refer to their 4th gens as an A32 when the actual chassis code is CA2?...

Your chasis number is not in your VIN number.

My VIN starts out as JN1CA2blahblahblah. In the sticky's is a picture or directions on how to decypher your VIN.

If you look on your firewall, the chasis code is indeed A32 or A32B (5th gen).

Pretty sure 5th gens are A33 not A32B

Lol. I like em clean

Cars, for example, we'll use someone that's already posted in here ~ Ilyak's Max. I love the look. Just simple and clean.
Caesars is pry my favorite fourth gen. Then theres guys like Wizard and Flava who's cars are so not your typical max but oh so clean.

The only time I like a 'body kit' is when its half broken and busted and barely hanging onto a silvia thats sitting like half an inch off the ground and has negative 2 fingers of wheel gap.

Ok, this is just my opinion so please feel free to ignore it and just do what you like best since its your car.

First, lose the Tiburon rims. Upgrade to SE-R, 350Z Anniversary, or G35 Sport rims. And thats if you want to stay stock...ish. I personally prefer aftermarkets when it comes to my rims. I own a set of 18'', gun metal gray, 5 spoke, Sportmax 962's, and I think they look great. I think pretty much any brand of 5 spoke rim looks amazing on the A32.

Next, I'd do a full 97-99 bumper conversion. Both front and rear bumpers look much better to me than the 95-96. I got both bumpers for $60 combined! Find a Stillen, Iconic lip kit in the classifides for cheap. I got a full Stillen kit 18 months ago for $375 shipped. You could possibly do it for cheaper now i'm not sure.

I cant tell what type of headlights you have in your picture but I would suggest the R34 headlights, and clear or black corner lights. You can get a combined set on ebay for like $180 shipped.

Definetely upgrade the suspesion. I'm riding on Ksport coilovers which I got used for $400 shipped. They are lowered to about an inch over the tires. Looks and handles great. The A32 stock, handles like a boat, and sits like a jeep. Not very fun or attractive. If coilovers are too pricy for you look in the classifides for a used set of KYB or Tokcio. Both are decent brands at a fair price. Or you can get a new full spring/shock/strut set off ebay for like $420 shipped.

Minor but not serious upgrades I would get are red/clear tails. Those can be had new for $100 shipped.

Short throw shifter. Got mine for $20 bucks. The A32 stock has incredibly long throws, it just feels nice shifting through those gears with just a flick of the wrist.

Window tint is one of the best cheap visual mods you can do.

Thats all I can think of right now. Obviously performance mods would be nice also, but I thought I would just stick to visual stuff.
