OK, so... I've been slacking off under the hood.

I am just curious of what all I need to do to be "caught" up. My 97 max has 125k miles on it.

I'm thinking a SeaFoam treatment, new spark plugs...what else? is there an easy way to check for clogs, like in the EGR, TB, IACV...is there anything else that can clog?

BASICALLY, i want to get my car back to "new car" status under the hood. What all is needed?

Just a thought ... Most members don't agree on Seafoam, many think it's a waste. I haven't done it, but I wouldn't. I'd spend the money on engine degreaser/cleaner, so you could see any leaks, ... just be careful around electrical. [I] did it and it makes a world of diff. * Also, if you drive any highway, you should do the cruise 'always-on' mod ...real simple and will save gas money. One last tip, when you do oil change, buy 1 'cheap' Fram filter and one 'good' one, lke NAPA Gold or OEM. Put the cheap one on first and run a couple weeks ( a few hundred miles) then pull Fram off and put on the good filter. That'll remove a lot of crap from oil system, the fram'll probably be full of crap and bypassing anyway. Just have the Good filter ready to screw on and do a quick swap ... you'll only lose a few ounces of oil. Check level and prob not need to add any.

thanks alot man. i did the seafoam and i can tell a difference. but yeah, i really do need to get some engine degreaser!

i do drive highway, but i don't have a problem with pushing the cruise-on button lol.

i have never thought of swapping filters! that is an excellent idea. i have a wix filter on there right now, but next time i do an oil change (3 months from now lol) i'll do that!

And unless you have ABS, you can probably skip the brake flush.
