Strange Problem...

Ok lets start here.. A few weeks ago i replaced 2 bad coils. after that the car ran mint like it was brand new. I cleaned the throttle body cleaned the EGR and basically did a complete tune up. This morning i was driving into work and all of a sudden i feel a hudge thud like someone hit my car. ( no it wasnt a bump) i lost rpms down to about 2500 and then my car eventually stalled out. I would floor the gas put rpms didnt go up. so i got the car to the side of the road and looked at the coils. They seemed and looked fine. i go and start the car and it starts fine. i go for another mile and it starts acting up again.. It figures when i brought it to a shop right near my work he took it for a ride and said it had no problems. so im hear for advice and anything that could help me. Ive scanned the CEL and the only thing that comes up is a temp sensor the i already knew was gone. not that important ive been running without it for 9 months. so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: In driving around more i noticed that the car bogs down and there are times i cant even get the rpms back up . if i hold the gas all of a sudden the car takes off.. idk whats up with it. i checked the wiring on the MAF and it seems ok but all in all the sensor could just be bad. Any chance it could be a catalytic clogging up?

check your MAF sensor. Mine went out and rpm's would not go past 2500

what temp sensor? if it is the coolant one that would cause all of the above symptoms. I had that when I first got the car. I got one from the local store for about $20 and its a 5min DIY.

Most likely your MAF got knocked around, lost connection for a bit. That's why you were limited to ~2500 RPM.

Check the connections on that.

The temp sensor before the MAF. Its been out of the car for about 9 months though... so i dont think thats a major prob. it just causes a check engine
