R34 headlight w/ Infinity G35 Projector MOD

EDIT!!!

hey guys, i guess it's my turn to do a projector mod to the all-so not-so popular R34 headlights for our 4th gen maxima. I am still in the process of getting it done.

The G35s are pretty decent... basically the same thing as the popular FX projectors, but without the name brand

What ballasts and bulbs?

G35=FX35 and both are tons better than the TSX. The tsx sucks but are pretty to look at.

the TSX is so popular because it's small, has good color, and good output.

It tends to get portrayed as the ultimate projector, when in fact there are many larger projectors that are better.

As a projector, it's tons better than aftermarket ebay projectors, and it's still better than most OEM projectors and most German-car projectors. But there are plenty of Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura projectors that are better than the TSX.

For single xenons? I've seen the output pics of the FXs and IMO the TSX beam is more uniform and evenly distributed.

Also, the TSXs are better because I said so

TSX are better IMO. Modded FX can be just as good or better. Look at all the comparisons on hidplanet.com

Well, none of the OEMs make their own, they buy them from lighting companies like Bosch, Stanley, Hella, Kioto, Valeo, etc.

What I mean is, among the retrofitting community, the FX projector is a "name brand". People are like "Oooohhhh I want to do a FX retro" before they even look at projector comparisons and shop for the best price. The G35 is the same projector, but it doesn't have the same reverence attached.

Coolsaber, are you going to be at Maxus? Cuz as soon as the sun goes down, our lights go on baby!

here are the lights

well, i am getting the other one in the oven ready to be put together..

but here is the R34 with the Infinity G35 Projector with the 70mm CCFL Angel Eye Ring

sorry for the blown up picture. but this is my laptops camera..

and yes, i blacked out everything. no reflector, just a black metal plate behind the housing.

so tell me what you guys think of it. I kinda like it. not bad for a first timer

*(Thanks to www.theRetrofitsource.com for supplying me with the projectors and the angel eyes)*

Come on Kev, You of all people have seen the side by sides. An unmodded fx outshines a TSX just has no color whatsoever, you do a clear lens swap then the fx outshines and out flickers a tsx. But you did you in YOUR opinion lol

Meh the tsx is nothing special. The flare that they have is annoying and they are not that intense at all.

Interesting approach - never seen an R34 without something on the inside.

Dude, the R34's without the reflectors look scarily similar to the Cefiro's... minus the little divider in the middle of course...

Looks very nice!

Probably. Will your retro be done by then?

I've seen several pics comparing output. I liked the TSX better as it didn't have some random flaring toward the middle. Just my opinion of course

Coolsaber the TSX is known for it's flare on the cutoff. period.

I feel like this arguement is like comparing an two hot girls that are both 9's. Both have different features and both are fawking hot! i'll leave it at that.

FX Replica beats both though.... muhahahhahhahaha

so are you going to put anything in the high beam space? it just looks so empty, theres too much space there. had the projector been in the middle somehow it would be ok, but its so far to the outside.
