ive seen that link, and trust me, i want to make the max so much lighter. but after looking at that list many times, i came to the reality that im only willing to remove two of the things listed in stage 1. those are the plate under the steering wheel, and the plate behind the glove box. everything else, im afraid that it will sacrifice something (comfort, rigidity, etc.) so its not even worth me trying.

im a firm believer in racing in full street trim anyways. the only thing i remove when i go to the track is the speaker box, and thats only because if i dont itll slide all over the place.

IMO, some of those weights are likely overestimated by a bit, but still all good ways to reduce weight.

You forgot battery as well. Can get a small dry cell that will reduce weight by a good bit.

Also skinnies in the rear. Considering our bolt patterns match that of most mustangs, you can easily find a set of 15x6ish wheels to put some drag skinnies on. This is a decent reduction in both weight and drag.

and make sure you eat lots of fiber the day before, so you can do some pre-race weight reduction in the bathroom.

Me too but I do remove the floor mats and spare. It's also one of the reasons I switched from a box to an IB set up. I really didn't like cruising to the track with no subs. Plus I like the extra space in my daily driver.

I don't think I could ever see myself taking all that stuff off the car unless it was a dedicated track car of some kind.

Removing all that stuff is definitely not for me. I race in street trim + slicks, that's it.

Me too - stripping a car down to a tin can - that's just wrong. I remove nothing from my car.

I can drive 500 miles in air-conditioned comfort with the system blasting away, turn around and drive back home - after I swap out the slicks and cap the headers.

Now that list is ricer pressed! I can see me takin out something stupid like handles. WTF? IMO if you need to do all that to make your car fast. You have way more modding to do!
