You should try the Falken Ziex 912 if quiet is what you're after, these are by far the quietest tires I've ever owned and pretty decent treadwear 50k IIRC. Performance isn't bad either for an all season. They've gotten some good reviews on here too, and aren't very pricey either, I got mine for $108 each (225/45/18).
Also check out the Yokahoma YK520 (discount tire co). Good all season tire, low noise, good grip, slightly softer sidewall. If you rotate etc you will get dam* near close to the 60K warranty, I got 51k out of mine and can probably get another 3k-4 k out of them.
I highly recommend these Bridgestone Potenza's....the best all season high performance tire..

i appreciate everyones response....i am thinkin bout falkens.....weather is not a big deal for me atleast allseason tires...since im in CenTEX ......if there are more responses or comments keep them coming it will take me a little while before i order em
Couldn't wait to replace them with better summer rubber, and have been rotating through Goodyear Eagle F1's for many years now. The F1's are a fantastic summer tire, reasonably priced, with incredible grip, awesome in the rain, and a pretty attractive tread pattern.
Highly recommended. With (reasonably) responsible driving, you should get 20K miles out of them.
Original tires were probably Bridgestone RE92. Good dry cornering response, somewhat iffy wet behavior once the little sipes wore away.
I would hope that the Falken ZE912 has improved response over the ZE512 as the 512's cornering behavior is best described as "soft".
Bridgestone's RE960AS seems to be a pretty good tire so far, although it's priced a bit higher than some of the other tires mentioned so far. Far more responsive than ZZE512's.

Agreed on the falken 912s. I liked them better than my 512s. They're fairly cheap, too, and they're very quiet. I think I had 25k miles on them before I got rid of them...the front tires probably had 25% tread left and the rears ~50....but that's because I drive my car really hard and I probably rotated the tires once. lol
Tirerack right now is having a special one Bridgestone Potenza RE92A. It was $171 and now its only $97 per tire.

RE92's are possibly the worst and most dangerous tires you can put on a car. When I had them I literally could not take a 45 mph turn over 20 without sliding. And I'm serious when I say that; I used to have people honk at me.
The RE92's come stock on several cars (ie: maxima, scion tc, civic, etc.) and the reason they are so expensive is not because they're a good tire (they're terrible), but because most idiots out there think they should replace their tires with the ones that came on their car from the factory, and they want to tear those idiots a new you-know-what.
cliffs: avoid craptenza RE92's at all costs.
You should look into the Wheel/Tire subforum for advice from the org members threads.
My best suggestion is to check Tirerack.com and view the available tires based on your size and type. Size, match what you have currently. Type, whether you want an All-Season, Summer, etc... and the grade of performance. Check the survey results and especially the test results as they give you test statistics for comparison. From there, check what is in your budget and you will have the best tire for your money.
Most tires that come with the car are crap. They are contracted with the manufacturer on a bulk basis. Eagle RS-As, Potenza RE92s, etc... Like LA02MAX stated, if you check the prices on tirerack for them, they are ridiculous because people assume they should go with the same as what they have.

the G009's now replaced with the G019's never have issue in the rain. I had the 009's on my Max and now have the 019's on my BMW in Pa. weather....again this is just my opinion
I loved mine too, until they started getting REAL noisy..
Still love them, hate the noise.
Another vote for the Yokohama YK520's
I give another "yes" vote for the Yokohama YK520's from Discount Tire. Decent in the snow, fairly good in the rain, about as quite as you'll find and fairly long life. I had mine slightly over inflated in front so getting a little more wear down the center but with a rotation and reduction in pressure they should go around 40-50k miles
i have heard a ton of good things about the falken 912's and i was going to get some until i picked up a set of z rims with almost new toyo proxes 4's on them. They are only a 300 treadwear rating but i am amazed at how little they have worn in the 10k aggressive miles i have put on them so far plus they are AA traction rated which means good grip in the rain. So if you dont need an all season tire and want something with excellent grip for a reasonable price you may want to check them out.
I've found that about once per set of tires I really need every little bit of grip that's there, and I highly doubt that that's unusually frequent (call it once every 30,000 miles or so). When that happens, if you've got high treadwear/long guaranteed treadlife tires on your car it'll be too late to wish that you'd chosen differently. ABS will not make less grippy tires stop as well as better ones.
I think that these days even Consumer Reports only considers treadwear as a tie-breaker among tires of similar performance.

There were Hankook Ventus II on my car when I got it, they were OK but ended up with bad side wall cracking. Put on a set of Goodyear Eagle GTs near the end of winter. They ride a bit softer, don't track all the groves in the road and great in the wet. They are a bit noisey, but they have met my expectations. Wear has been minimal thus far.
im going to add another vote for the Yokahoma YK520's had these on my car and loved them prolly the best tire ive ever had. ive ran yokohoma avid h4s those were great for me im currently runing hankook optimos these are def not noisy great tread wear and cheap, without a doubt id say get the yokahoma yk520's u wont be dissapointed.

You may not be in the winter mindset right now, but I'm going to plug some 'winter' tires that I got last fall and love so far. They're the Hankook Icebear W300's. They are amazing in the snow, wet, dry...everything. Plenty of grip, quiet (probably not the quietest tire ever, but certainly no where near the loudest), and have shown almost no wear over the past 10 months. I had the OEM Bridgestones on the car when I got it a little over 2.5 years ago; they went to **** fast. I got the Kumho Ecsta ASX's when the OEM's wore out. They barely lasted a year and were terrible in the snow and pretty unnerving wet.
The Hankooks ran me in the $130's each; more than the Kumhos, but well worth the price since they perform/feel so much better and will clearly last much longer.

Ditto. Try www.discounttiredirect.com. They have an eBay website, too. Then, take 'em to Walmart and it's only like $3/tire to mount/balance them.
yewp thts wut im planning on....except the tire shop here claims they will pricematch wutever lowest price i can find online....
