Quick, dumb PCV valve question
Quick, dumb PCV valve question
So, based on a couple of threads here, I decided to treat my SE to a new PCV valve. As recommended in the threads, I got a cheap Purolator valve at the local Advance. Then, I read in a couple threads about a gasket that needs to be replaced with the valve. This is where my question comes in...
I checked-out Courtesy's parts finder and I see they list two possibilities. They list Rubber PCV, Valve for about $2.50. And they list Insulator PCV, Valve for about $9.
The schematic on the Courtesy site seems to show only the Insulator part (upper left on the image. Part of the 13264 group) In fact, the parts guy I spoke with had no idea what the "Rubber" part was about.
So, what part do I really need? Do I need both?
Thanks,
Jim

I replaced my PCV valve last week. I bought one from autozone and replaced it. I dont know what the hell else you are talking about man. I just took off the hoses and unscrewed it, screwed in a new one and connected the hoses. Thats it.
Hope this helped.

It is the "insulator" for $9.00. I had to replace mine because it was cracked. Just be careful when you pull the old PCV valve because you don't want pieces of the rubber falling back into the valve cover.
