Cold air intake questions

I was wondering if any of you with the CAI are experiencing any gains? I have heard claims from 1 to 22 hp gains. Is it a mod worth the money? I had one in my Titan and in my '06 Z, good improvement in the titan, nothing in the Z. What about a drop in K&N? I think I read a 1 to 3 HP gain, not quite worth the cost....Love to hear what youv'e had....

Well, I think it all depends on what you're looking for out of the mod; K & N drop box filter is worth it because it provides better protection than a stock filter/breathes better and sounds cooler too.

Intake is better than dropbox for all the same reasons plus it does actually net you about 7-11 HP and a little TQ but when enhanced with a combo or full catback, Y & B Pipe then you can honestly see gains around the 22HP you mentioned earlier but an intake alone will not give our cars that advantage.

I've read somewhere and heard somewhere that the new Z was seeing a gain of nearly 55 HP just from adding the Stillen Intake.

Amazing, wished that worked for our cars in that manner(

There's two actually, STILLEN and Takeda. Personally, I'm waiting for R2C to come out with thiers. It should blow any other brand out of the water. You can see the discussion here: http://forums.maxima.org/7th-generat...ts-intake.html. They already have begun R&D so hopefully they will come out with something in a few months. You can email them and get more info prob. If you do, let us know!

I believe that was with their intake, headers, and exhaust. And that was to the wheels with about 2k in mods. Definitely a good value and it just shows how much potential there is in the 3.7 motor and how restricted it is from the factory.

I dropped about 2k into my motor work and I didn't even get half of the gains they got on that motor, its crazy!
