I'm wishing there was a way to do this, but haven't seen one so far. So much of today's music is acquired in a digital format (not necessarily a physical CD).

bump. I'd love to do this from my USB key or external hard drive connected via USB

 

Transferring MP3, or virtually any recording to music box format is going to severely degrade the sound quality. Not to mention the allowed length of recordings will be very low, and production cost per cylinder is going to be extremely expensive.
