Awesome bad discovery? (Exhaust Tip)

So I've been tweaking my Max from the way the previous owner had it ever since I bought it. It already came with a bunch of stuff I wanted anyway, but there were some things that needed changing. The very last thing on my list will soon be taken care of, and I thought I would share with you what I found in the process, since I'm bored.

I'm a guy who likes to keep things classy and simple. Stock body, subtle-yet-tasteful light mods, etc. Well, the exhaust tip that came on my car was just way too big for my liking. The outlet was huge, the tip was sticking out past the bumper way too far, I could go on. Well, I took it off today finally to take some measurements to order a new one. This is what I found when I took the tip off the car:

The tip had been cut so that it fit tighter when clamped down, I guess. There was still a huge gap, though, which would explain all the soot and why my car's exhaust note is now drastically different without the tip on it

Anyway, looking to get something weld-on to replace it that's actually the correct length and not huge. Current tip is 12.0" long, I need one that's about 10.0". Inlet of the tip is 3.0" (muffler is 2.5" in, 3.0" out), outlet I'd like to be in the 3.25" to 3.5" range. Just enough to fill up most of the cut-out in the bumper, but nothing as big as it has now. Should stop the tip from smacking against the bumper over bigger bumps, as well. I'm looking at this tip:

Anyone know of any place to get a better price on one than that? I'd like something similar if anyone has any cheaper/better recommendations.

$80 for a tip seems pretty expensive

Yeah 80 bucks for a tip is high! I too enjoy making a car look clean but modded, as I call it "the way it should've been from factory". I just bought a 4th gen that looks like it was sponsored by "Rice"! I am removing the rice can and installing a G35 sedan muffler. If I were you, I would consider using an OEM tip from another car, like G35's, IS300, or anything larger with a nice clean cut.

We don't have any local exhaust places, only garages that will install and repair existing systems. Quite in fact, I work at one of those garages. There just isn't anything available locally except the usual garbage at places like Pep Boys and Advance Auto.

Show me an OEM tip with a 3" inlet that costs less than the Magnaflow

At this point, I may just say screw it and replace the muffler too for that kind of money. I'm not overly fond of the one on it now anyway.
