thinking of rewiring the fogs because of short

so I have a mysterious short somewhere along the fog wires because both fogs go out when turned on when the fuse blows. I've thought about trying to find the short on the wires but its wrapped up and tucked away so it seems like it will be easier to just cut from a few inches behind the harness, then cut up near the fuses and over at the relays. I could always put a much bigger fuse in there and see were the wires start smoking aka start a controlled car fire.... but I'd rather not. Anybody have any suggestions or other ideas on what I should do?

Did you check the bulbs? My interior lighting fuse blew out because of a f'd up bulb. Haven't gotten around to changing the bulb so for now its just unplugged, hasn't happened since.

Did you make sure the bulbs are connected correctly? If you leave the power wire dangling or touching a grounded surface, it'll short out.

If you disconnect the connectors at the fog lights, does the fuse still short out? If not, what if you unplug the bulb directly?

Which fuse? There are two in the fog light circuit.
