Has anyone ever tried 5.5G calipers or torque members on a 4th gen?

Has anyone ever tried 5.5G calipers or torque members on a 4th gen?

As the title states, has anyone ever tried this? I'm just wondering if the 5.5G (2002-2003) torque member bolts to the 4th gen steering knuckle.

Also, does anyone know if the 5G (00-01) torque member has more room (thickness-wise) than the 4th gen torque member? I just realized while going through FSMs that 5G rotors are thicker than 4G rotors. I never knew that.

Reason I'm asking is because in order to use J30 or 300ZX rotors with a 4th gen, you need to do a bunch of grinding on the torque member, but if 5G or 5.5G torque members have more room in them, and bolt to 4G steering knuckes, it would require much less grinding. The grinding takes quite a while when doing this swap.

This of course presumes that the pads interchange between 5.5G and 4G/350Z (I discovered a couple weeks ago that 4G and 350Z base pads are interchangeable).

You need to enlarge the holes on the knuckle, then will bolt up.

Neal, you might want to check this out:

If you have any questions hit me up. I put my calipers on almost a year ago.

Cliff's notes...
1. Enlarge bolt holes on knuckle to 14mm (9/16" = 14.3mm)
2. mofidy dust shield to fit bigger rotor.
3. bolt on 5.5 gen brakes just as you would any other OEM brake setup.

The bolts you'll need are 14mm x 1.5mm. not sure what length, as we use custom bolts on my brake kit and they're 600 miles away.

Mine were either 40mm or 50mm. Not sure. And, side note, I have no dust sheilds anymore. The whole process of modifying them the way you need to renders them useless to begin with. Looks better to me (and saves weight ) so I just took them off.
