Diamond cut or regular clears for 95-96 style headlights?

Ok, I've searched and searched, and didn't find what I was looking for.

I know the diamond cut match the 97+ headlights very well, but what type of clears would you recommend for 95-96 style headlights?

Gary95 was the only person I found through the search, that is happy with the diamondcut on his 95 Max (but no pic).

I am hoping someone could post a pic of the diamond cut and regulars with 95-96 headlights in one pic! All pics I found focus on the clears only and doesn't show how well it matches with the headlight.

And I do not want to convert my headlights to the 97+ style, I happen to like the glass lens better than the plastic ones

Thanks!

hehe, can't wait for my red/clear tailights, so I need to get bumpre clears too But which? Decisions, decisions *sigh*! Thank you fellow org members!

This has been debated...

Non-diamond: Match better.
Diamond: Look better.
Diamond: Sometimes leak.

I myself have a 1996 and I'm buying the Diamonds as soon as Greg gets them in.

Ahh, I am leaning towards diamonds too! Especially since they're backordered until 2023 from Greg - so I want to put my order in asap.

I'm hoping someone might be kind enough to post a pic of diamond-cut and the headlights on a 95-96 in one pic.

Also, a pic of the regular clears with the 95-96 headlights would be 'wunderbar'

I have a 96 and side by side the non-diamonds match 100% better.

Thanks bro for the compliments. I donno about jOO showin my pic but I think i'll let it slide just this once. j/k

PocketRocket, Get diamond-cut !! They look great on '95-96. Regulars are too plain and don't catch peoples eyes. (boring) The diamond-cut will make your car look alot sharper.

BTW, Cyrus, I think their are like 3 more spots open in the 95-96 red/clear deal, if you have paypal or can airmail your money order, you can get some!!! They would look bueno on your red max.

Yeah after seeing Craig's car I'm definitely gonna get the diamond cut ones. And Craig man I like the red/clears but with that much money I could do so much more. I think the $10 tint works alright for me - believe me it catches a lot of attention .

i had the regular ones with my 96 lights to start. i liked it. then i got the diamond cut ones and i liked the looks a lot better. THEN i got the 97-99 headlights and i think that is the best look of them all. but you said you didnt want to do that. if you can be persuaded...i really think the diamond cut lights with the 97-99 headlights look 100 times better.

Who would you buy your bumpre clears from?

If I were to get diamond-cut, I'd probably buy them from Greg (custommaxima.com) for $45

What 'bout regular bumper clears? Courtesy Nissan sells a pair for $50+
Procarparts sells a bunch of regular & diamond clears on Ebay all the time.

So any recommendations for procarparts, or anyone else?

p.s.: I'm leaning more towards regulars now. Erik's Max (tifosiv122) matches pretty well but he doesn't have factory fogs
Craig's Max looks sharp, but it doesn't match as well IMO. SHARP though!!!

Clears

I voted clears because I ordered mine a little after the first time I saw them. Yeah they look real nice and I want to do the tails too one day when I get around to it. Cant wait for them to come in thoguh Greg has a huge order waiting on these so might as well jump in now.

Re: Clears

*bump

Someone's got to have bought a pair or regular bumper clears from procarparts. Feedback?

Thanks!

you COULD buy both then sell the ones you dont like. you might end up losing about $15 or $20 but you'd get the infomation you want.

Regarding the leaking issue: I noticed when mine were shipped to me that the tolerances were not exactly "tight" where the lense surface met with the reflector-housing surface. (There was up to a 1/16" gap in some places along this seam). I anticipated there might be leakage problems, so as a precaution, I laid a bead of clear silicone along the gap and smoothed it out with my thumb (clearing away any excess).

Installed the lights, and voila! No leaks & they look great!
