Spoiler 95-99: searched and got more confused

I'm trying to determine if stock spoiler is the same for all 95-99 maximas or if there is a difference in 95-96 vs 97-99. The two threads below seem to be giving me conflicting information but the one saying that they were all the same seemed to be the consensus. Sooooo................. I tried to mount what I was told was a stock 96 spoiler to my 99SE and it was way off...........as in it appeared to be a different mounting setup entirely. Can someone give me a definitive answer? Thanks in advance.

On the courtest nissan website, the list the spoiler as 95-99, so they should fit either trunk lid.

or maybe they list it like that at courtesy Nissan because the 97-99 spoiler supersedes the 95-96 spoiler but yea they did redesign the trunk of the 97-99 maxima to theres your problem... just go with the spoiler off of the same year of your car

They separate a lot of things ... manual/automatic, and 95-96/97-99. Furthermore, the 97-99 trunk lid was only redesigned with the taillights and in no other way. The 97-99 trunk lid fits perfectly on a 95-96.

no the whole lid was changed. no gutter in the 97-99 trunk.

+1, I'm thinking the spoilers are different, but you do own a 99, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to have a 99 only spoiler.... so many other things are 99 only on this damned car....

Hmmm can anyone put me out of my misery? I'm seeing ebay companies selling spoilers listed as 95-99. Anyone got a definitive answer about what the different mounting setups are like?

Agreed, same. I have an ebay spoiler on my car, and it was for 95-99.

Was a PITA to install though

they are the same however some have the screws in the middle and some at the end i have 1 95 and 1 97 and yes they have the screws in different spots so in order to put them on u might need to make some holes in the trunk i also noticed that the led has 3 screws in one of them and 4 in the other but that doesnt matter
