Seat Comfort in Max with Power Seats

There has been numerous posts about seat comfort. When I read these before I got my max, I was like how can this be. I find the seats to be very comfortable. The thing I find challenging is getting the seats to the comfortable posistion. The power seats, it is deffinetly challenging to get it just right. No idea why.

The biggest issue I have with the seats is they are simply too wide! The bolsters are big enough but simply to far apart. I am 5'11" and 185lbs, so I would decribe myself as average height and weight, but the darn things are designed for someone much larger.

Sit in a BMW, Audi, Acura, or even Lexus IS and the bolsters grab you.

We need to remember that women (many of whom drive Maximas) are 'built' differently than men (thank goodness), and are often wider in the pelvis area. The seats have been very comfortable for my wife, and for me as well, and my hips are not very wide (160 lbs, 5'11"). Of course my 1 " thick wallet takes up a good bit of room. But I wouldn't want these bolsters any closer together.

If only we could steal the Recaros from the EVO X. Those are comfortable in pretty much every reasonable sitting condition. Not that I don't like the Max's seats it's just I completely understand what you are talking about with the width being that I am 165lbs and 5'11. It almost seems to be getting to the point where an optional extra width seat for the extra wide folks would be made available so as to not alienate the not so extra width people of comfort. Trust me I can understand why this hasn't been offered, but a boy can dream of a world where Recaro seats come standard in every vehicle.

Lightonthehill...I understand what your saying, but the bolsters are suppose to grab your lower back while the seat cushion is for hip comfort.

IMO the maxima has big, thick padded seats, but they simply do not grab you in place, especially for a 4DSC.

Well, a 4DSC is necessarily a compromise and some features will be more 4D and others more SC. I think Nissan wanted the seats to be comfortable with a sporty look. Still, the bolsters are functional and help in the twisties, but the width of the seats make them much more comfortable for long trips than they would be if they fit like a glove.

Like MReim I can dream of Climate Controlled Recaro's as well...only for tall people!! I find the width and height of the current seat not that bad, although I still have to adjust it more like a recumbent bike (The world is not made for tall people...the little folk rule) I consider it a good compromise...or rather better than most.

Definitely a different feel from prior gens. Too wide IMO.
