How big is the stock resonator?

Just installed a Magnaflow XL muffler..... sounds sick but I want it a bit louder (recorded some sound clips, I could barely hear the exhaust at idle from the outside).

Thought about deleting the resonator but read about all the drone that produces..... can't put up with that. So I want to replace the stock resonator with something smaller from Magnaflow.

Anybody know the size of the stock resonator? I'm too lazy to jack up my car and measure it (plus its cold outside and I have to work the next 2 day..... good excuses for being lazy I think). Also I couldn't find anything through search.

Ordered the MagnaFlow 13236 from Amazon here, great deal less than $50.

Think I might keep it as is, its growing me, the sound might be perfect. Just drove it about 20 miles on the highway, drove it in and out of a gas station (where some customers definitely noticed the exhaust).

From inside the cabin, the car has this deep growl when started, sounds great.

Video below (sorry for the crappy revving). I took that video right after the install (less than 1 mile away from the shop) so it hasn't been broken in yet.

My car only has a GAB and the Magnaflow muffer. The muffer didnt come with a tip, the tip on the muffler was installed by the shop.

Well, since you were talking about your muffler not being loud enough! I personally went out and reinstalled the Cattman rear muffler assembly back on the car (03 Auto) since now I'm running a Hybrid Short Ram Intake system/H/MC/E and the last time it was installed I was equipped with an Injen Intake System/Headers/Metallic Cat/Exhaust. The sound is smoother and not as burblely as with the Oem trick muffler (OTM)...the throttle response is good but not as crisp and linear as with the OTM, but I may have picked up 2-3 mph on my public testing ground! Gotta really be careful not to floor it even at 25 mph cause the tires break loose and I need to step into 3/4 to 7/8 throttle, then floor it to keep the traction good and keep the car accelerating. Did some highway driving and the exhaust note at 2500 rpm is not as loud with the HSRI/Headers/Catback as it was with the Injen intake in the equation...But the OTM is quiet thru out the entire 2000-3000 rpm range during highway cruising...the Cattman rear muffler seemed to quiet down up at about 82-90 mph and the sound was exotic like....I'll see if I can make a video/sound clip both revving parked and driving...this will be my first!

No, no headers. Just GAB and the Magnaflow muffler.

Btw, here's another video I made yesterday. On it there's a bunch of fly-by's.

btw, the damn shop installed a 2" tip when the outlet is 2.5"..... i'm going to ask them to cut it off today.

also, newbie question...... are the b-pipe and resonator the same thing?

i was reading in another thread and a guy says the stock b-pipe silences most of the exhaust sound. then i look up images of the b-pipe and they show the area around the resonator.

The b-pipe is the piping which includes the resonator from back of the cat converter all the way to the axle back muffler.
