Begining of a shave/tuck

Ive recently started tucking things in my engine bay, eventually i will pull the motor and completely shave and tuck it. I'm almost finished with the passenger side and will soon be starting the drivers side.

Heres some pictures of my progress (sorry for bad quality cell phone pics)

-Power steering(all lines, pump, reservoir)
-Air Conditioning( compressor, all lines, condenser, dryer)
-Cruise Control
-Battery relocation
-Windshield washer fluid reservoir
- random brackets and stuff that aren't needed + allot of random small things that i cant even think of lol

you need to grab a SS clutch line from GB, really cleans up that corner of the engine very well

lol i wasn't aware that hondas were the only cars worthy of a clean engine bay.

bigpopaj369- I took them out because i didn't really need them plus They just both add mass that the engine would have to turn so by taking them out it can rev freer. it wasnt JUST a cosmetic thing.

Seriously? If your looking to gain power why not go FI or just spray. Doesnt make sense to me to scarafice AC&PS for little gains, very little. Especially on a motor thats already over 200k.
Now if the car was a drag car, that was fully gutted with no interior , one seat, running a built motor then Id understand.
Seems ricerish to me, Im all for a clean engine bay though but taking everything out seems bit overkill if the cars exterior isnt just as clean and nice looking.

Well it takes time to get everything right its not just an overnight thing, ive seen the bay in person and i actually like it very much even tho im not for the tucking myslef. LOL on the spray thats real ricer cant believe you gave a sugestion for that, because imo it proves nothing.

Yeah, an instant 100hp from a shot of nitrous is ricer yet eliminating AC and PS to free up 3-5hp isnt?
Thats real logic there.

Relax the guy probably doesn't know that a Flywheel and 125 Shot would give 2x as much fast rev and double the motors hp(give or take a bit)..

Im sure he doesnt, which is why he should just keep quiet instead of trying to call me out.
Im not totally aginst the removal of ac/PS.... on a drag car.
But for a DD seems pointless when there are still many more mods that can be done that will yeild better gains and still allow you to keep those comforts.

Trust me bro, Im not doing it just for the minimum gains that is has by itself, but think about it. now the only thing that is ran off a belt is the alternator. Put a lightweight flywheel and light weight crank pulley will make for a pretty quick revving motor. As for comforts, its not hard to steer without power steering, actually makes for a totally different car in a better sense and A/C like ive said im used to not having it.

Personally i love tucked motors, thats why im doing it and plus the fact that it opens ALOT of room for other goodies. But go ahead and call me a ricer for being able to drive a car without power steering and a/c I promise your not hurting my feelings or changing my mind about anything.

dam bro that looks real good. ive seen this on hondas and other cars. but on a maxima, a tucked engine bay is going to look so clean. i cant wait to see the finished product. are you thinking about welding up all the little pinholes scattered through out the engine bay?

Thanks for the positive feedback. Yeh once i pull the motor for the swap, all the holes are getting welded and smoothed.

You mean turbo. The SCer wold still have to be crammed right between the timing chain cover and frame.

To each his own. Can't be a diverse community if everyone on the board has the same taste. I like it.

I completely agree with Flava_24/7 about the performance aspects but from a cosmetic viewpoint, its your car do what you like. Your gonna have a hell of a time cleanin that bay. good luck

This guy has taken allot of time in getting his engine bay looking excellent, tucking wires and such.

Find your own stock Z32TT engine bay to compare to.

Not a VQ I know, but I see where you're trying to go w/ the Max and I wish all of the luck to yah.

I also agree with flava about minimum gains by removing ac and ps alone trying to gain hp. But if you can honestly tell me that an engine having to turn 2 extra pulleys vs a engine only turning an alternator isnt going to respond better and rev freer then idk what to tell you. I also will be adding a light flywheel and lightweight one belt crank pulley along with many other things. its been almost 2 months since ive deleted the power steering and i can honestly say its not bad at all, actually feels better.
