G37 Steering Wheel on an I35/Max?

Hey guys-

Just curious if a G37 steering wheel would fit in an i35. I borrowed a dealer's loaner yesterday while having some work done on my car, and I think the G37 wheel is more comfortable. Anyone ever done this or looked into it? (I searched, but didn't find anything.)

The only things I really care about are:

1) Will it bolt on in the first place?
2) Is the cruise control harness at least similar? (I could rig it to work)
3) Airbag connection similar?
4) Does the G37 have the heated steering wheel option? (I'd hate to lose that.)

Thanks! (I also posted this in the I30/I35 section, but figured there'd be more traffic here.)

Would be an interesting swap, here is the link for the G35/G37 FSM's that may help to shed a bit of light into your questions.

FWIU, I think that someone swapped a 350z wheel into their Max a while back. I remember starting a thread about doing something similar to see if anyone knew if the hub patterns were similar, etc.

GL with this. I think I'm just going to end up getting an 05 or 06 Altima wheel because they're smaller in diameter and AFAIK, will bolt up.

That's why I want the G35/37 wheel. Its smaller and I like the 10 and 2 grip better. I think Im just gonna have to bite the bullet and buy the wheel to see if it fits. If not, there's going to be a G37 wheel for sale on Ebay...

I'd hate to try this because we're talking about steering wheel/airbag combos which are a few years apart. An item to check is to see if the airbags controllers are the same.

A 6th genner (DeusExMaxima) swapped in a JDM Nismo 350Z steering wheel. Airbag and all. If you search his threads or the 6th gen subforum, you'll find it. It might shed some insight for your potential swap. I still drool to that steering wheel today.

This makes me very happy. That does look awesome, and the outer grip part 'appears' identical to the G steering wheel. I'm hoping its the same basic part, just with a different center shape.

And linkage to an install! Fantastic! Thanks man!
