Do I need a tune-up?

Hi:

I have a Maxima GXE, 96, 86k miles. When it was 56k (30k ago) I did a 60k maintanence (plugs, fluids, filters and engine tune-up). Do I need an engine tune-up now as 30k passed? Well, I do not see something bad's happening, the car runs good, may be a little bit more slower at start when accelerating than 30k ago and may be an MPG decreased a little bit since that (from 23-25 to 20-23). I am just wondering is tune-up a recommended procedure after 30k (good to do) or you better don't tuch it until something wrong happens? Is tune-up
a procedure that you need to do only at Nissan dealership or it is common?

The dealer also provides "fuel injection service" for $98 and "throttle body service" for $85. How to tell if I need this and how big may be improvement after that?

I am not a pro in cars at all, I just push pedals:-)

Thank you!

Best regards,
Maxtmp.

read the Maintenance thread up top. that should provide some pointers. Also, get a Haynes manual...it will provide all the necessary info you need to maintain your vehicle...

At 86K it might not be a bad idea to go for the fuel system and throttle body service. I had this done on my old Honda, made a huge difference in power and smoothness of the engine.

As far as a tune-up goes, just change your air filter right now.

Re: Do I need a tune-up?

When you said filters, did you mean the oil and air?? If so, also do your fuel filter.
