Any tips on how to install the EGR Valve and the tube that connects to it? on a 99

Long story short my EGR tube broke on the thread so now i have to replace the valve and the tube. I was wondering if anyone replaced it before and if so how they did it ? im assuming i will have to take the uim off to get to both of this? anything else i should worry about ? I ordered the tube, valve gaskets for the valve and uim, also ordered both gaskets for the little EGR tube . any advice would be big help never done this before , thx

Trying to visual the procedure in my head, I think removing the UIM is pretty much a must. Removal and re installation should be pretty self explanatory once you dive in and get in there.

I just replaced some o rings behind the rear timing chain case, and I had to take the UIm off to get to it. I just put the UIM on 30 minutes ago, and I'm pretty sure you can get the Guid tube off without removing the UIM if you have small hands like me. I can reach it if I remove the IACV. As for the EGR valve I don't know.

Pretty sure the UIM has to come off, as I mentioned in PM.. it will definately make the job 75% easier, even if not necessary. The tube, I hear, can be a challenge. Godspeed. lol.

For a first timer, probably 1.5 to 2 hours. Have fun with those bolts in the back of the UIM and disconnecting the coolant feed hose.

Since the TB and IACV will be taken off, might as well get those gaskets as well. Good opportunity to clean both items as well.

The TB gasket falls apart if it is old. They are so cheap just buy them.
