I got a great deal on some tail lights for my 96 maxima but the seller is telling me that his 97 tails are made different from the 96 tails is this true? if so what are the differences is it fitment issues or just bulbs issue

 

The inner lights(the ones on the trunk)are shaped different on the 95-96 and 97-99

 

97 have the brake light on the top half and 96 they are on the bottom half i think not sure

If your gonna get the taillights get the trunklid too. You need it for the inner taillights otherwise the inner's wont fit.

But the outers will fit without changing anything and personnally I like the way the set looks on a 96. Next up for me is red clears and 97+ headlight swap !
