Looks like another one bites the dust :(

So it happened to me yesterday. I was drivin down the right lane of a 4 lane road and there was traffic backed up in the left lane and some girl decided to dart across and turned right in front of me. I had no where to go or hardly any time to react. I'm guessin my 95 SE is going to be totaled out. She hit my left front corner and the wheel is bent along with some suspension items and there is a very slight scratch down the left side of the car.
She was charged with the accident so her insurance will be taking care of it. I will be sad to see her go. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Her hammered Prius

that sucks man...i remember when my first 4th gen was totalled. I almost cried lol. But i went and bought another 4th gen afterwards. I jus wasnt ready to give up on them.

I basically had the same damage as u and they deemed it a total loss. Good news was for a 1997 maxi w/ 160k miles and a replaced tranny with 90k....i got 3k bucks for it. They wanted to give me 2500 but i negotiated 3k. They gonna come low, you go high, then agree on a number somewhere between ya kno.

Good luck

yeah, I know. I'll probably have to fight with her insurance company cause I know they will offer me next to nothing for the car. I am going to do alot of research and print off similar cars for sale locally to show that its worth more than they will probably offer me. What sucks is I had 17" Altima wheels on it and the left front wheel is probably toast, if they total the car, I doubt I will get extra money for the wheels. I can at least try.

Depending on the mileage, they will total it but to get back the most money, somehow try to get it cleaned before they come and check it. My car was totaled twice in two separate accidents and I fixed it back and can't tell if it was in an accident.

YO man...my first maxi had crazy mods...over 1000 bucks in total. The insurance company wouldnt give me anythin for the mods. And i had ALL my reciepts, even for repairs. I was pissed. Thats why i go cheap with the latest maxi. No sense in spending a lotta cash on it cuz if the car is totalled i dont get nuttin back. But i want rims so bad..might jus bite the bullet ya kno

Well, I just heard from her insurance company and it looks like I will be getting $3027 for the car which I feel is a good price for a 95 SE. Now I will just have to find another one.

Thats dope man. U gonna stay with a 4th gen or move to a 5th gen? When i was shopping around i really didnt see a good reason to move to the 5th gen. I would like a 05 maxi, but that car was like 11k bucks

I would love to move up to a 5th Gen, but I think they will be a tad out of my price range. I really don't want to spend more than what I am getting from insurance right now. So it will probably end up being a 4th Gen.

Check to see how much it will cost to repair it. you can always get the car totalled and buy back from the insurance company pretty cheap. Mine did get totalled and i bought it back for 300 bucks.

Edit: buy back

If you have the time and space to part the car out, you should look into seeing how much it would run you to buy the car back from the insurance company. You can easily make a few thousand by parting it out, on top of what the insurance company pays you.

Damn dude that truly sucks. I've been in situations like that as well... If its gets totaled, I'm interested in the passenger side fender and trunk lid with spoiler and rear bumper if its in good shape. Sorry, I mean.. I hope they either fix it or pay you amount deserved. I also love BM1

I've thought about buying it back and parting it out and I may ask her insurance company how much, but honestly I don't have time right now. My wife and I are moving in 2 weeks and we are expecting our 2 child in May plus I am fully steam ahead to find another car.

The problem is, if he doesnt buy the car back then he cant part it. If he starts taking stuff off the car they gonna decrease the value and give him less.

SI,

jus cut ur losses and find another maxi with reasonable miles man. I got lucky, I found my second maxi w. 116k and MT
