You will spend about 80 bucks. USPS is the cheapest.

I shipped wheels via fedex from charlotte, nc to NY recently. I paid right at $100. Also, put them in boxes, done just put cardboard on the faces and saran wrap them, it'll cost more.

I shipped from Massachusetts to Arizona. I believe it was $125 a box. I had two boxes with 2 rims and tires in each. I am not 100% sure of the cost though. I know it was around there though. They shipped out using FedEx, just because I brought them to a local guy and he shipped them with whichever company was the cheapest. He packaged them in two large boxes and put shrink around the rims and that was it. Hope this helps.

Shipping rims and tires are going to cost you alot. Most people just ship rims only. I will go with USPS.

Yes. Keep in mind that weight will also play a factor in pricing. I shipped a set of 19" Forged rims and with tires and each box was around 90-95 lbs. If you have something heavier that will up the price even more.
Shipping rims alone is much cheaper. Tires are usually around 25 pounds so that's a big difference.

yea ive notice its about $50 per tire/rim if shipped individually
& if i put 2 in a box that will be a larger dimension & more weight
idk i did rate both ways individual & 2 per box its about the same. but distance is what it is from cali to ny, thats basically across the usa

From my experiance, shipping bigger and heavier items UPS is better, smaller stuff USPS is optimal. If the rims/tires are not in a box though you will pay another $8/item with UPS, so getting boxes will save you $32...I would just take some measurments and weigh them and shop around online.

$50/tire is a good estimate. Wrap them in plastic. Take out the air (up to 15 psi, not all). If they are in a box, you can get them a little cheaper but not much.

I think the max weight on Flat Rate is up to 70lbs.

Just a suggestion - let most of the air out of the tires - leaving enough to keep it 'sealed' to the rim - this will reduce shipping weight (not drastically, but hey saving money is saving money).

The rates for UPS and Fed EX for this type of shipping are about the same...

I've shipped wheels across the states before and USPS was the cheapest way to go. The range should be around $40 EACH and shouldn't be more than $50 with insurance and tracking. I highly recommend you to pay the extra money for the services (for your own protection). It's optional to deflate the tires because the weight loss is minimal. What you can do is get some thick cardboard to cover the surface of the rim and also the inside too. Then just wrap them in packing shrink films like this http://www.boxcity.com/scripts/prodV...?idproduct=178

Weight reduction is mostly for handling, the size will be thenfactor in the price. As I said, UPS says it is in a box, you do not have extra handling. If it is shrink wrapped, the conveyors can not handle and therefore is subject to a surcharge. Hence it is $50 instead of $40 each. I learned this while shipping 3 sets of wheels.
