Nasty Smell on high rpms

Hey,
So everytime i get in the high way or just go really fast for fun, something starts to really smell. It only happens in the 3-5th gears and only at above about 4300rpm. Once i lay off the gas, it goes away.
I dont think it smells like oil, but it could be. My exhaust system is pretty effed, so i suspect that might have something to do with it.
Any ideas would be great,
thanks

rotten egg smell = time for new cats. If that is the smell you are experiencing

Yeah that's a possibility but never experienced it. I don't want to jack your thread but I am pretty sure it will help you out also. Where could one find a replacement y-pipe similar to OEM if you don't like noise?

couldn't it be there is something out of tune and fuel is going in to the converter and causing the smell? Mine does this also on occasion at high rpm but when it's doing it i feel a loss of power leading me to believe it is not a bad converter.

Others can respond bot I have heard that just swapping the ypipe doesnt equate to a drastic increase in noise

(All of this while having a stock Muffler) You won't have a real change, it's changing the cats that affects the noise difference, my car w/ a Y+Hi Flow Cat is louder than stock 4th gens, but still much quieter than other modded cars. Never really noticed/cared until a stock 4th gen started right next to me lol.
