Replacing Cluster, odometer roll back?

Hey guys, Looking for some info that I can't find on guage cluster replacement. I would like to get the SE gauges in my GLE, but I just want to make sure of a few things. First of all, does the ECU keep track of the mileage, or does it store in the actual cluster? If it does, is there a way to roll it back to my original kms? Also, are all 2002/2003 gauges direct Plug-n-Play as long as u stick with auto to auto and manual to manual?

Thanks for your time and feedback, much appreciated.

If you get a new cluster it will show the km's driven from it's original car, but the ECU will keep track of the number your car has driven. If you go to a dealership they will be able to tell that the odometer does not match the ecu. And yes they can fix it for you so they both read the same. ANd yes it will be plug and play.

How would this work with an engine swap?
